  • Big Bang Theory

    Big Bang Theory
The big bang theory is a theory that leads to how our universe is today. One important thing about the big bang theory is that the Big Bang was not an explosion IN the universe, but rather it is an explosion OF the universe.
  • birth of earth

    birth of earth
The birth of earth is when lumps of dust came together in spinning spirals, there was alot of heat in it. Soon the dust melted into one solid ball.
  • precambrian time

    precambrian time
The earliest living organisim in the precambrian time was microsphic bacteria. The Precambrian time is layered in sedimentary rocks. The picture shows Bacteria.
  • cambrian

    cambrian
[cambrian time](<a href='http://www.ucmp.berkeley.edu/cambrian/cambrian.php)' > The cambrian time is the time when most of the major groups of animals first appear in the fossil record. The cambrian time was the earliest time period in Paleozoic.
  • ordovician

    ordovician
The Ordovician Period lasted almost 45 million years. During the Ordovician period time, the area north of the tropics was almost entirely ocean. The picture shown is a Echinoderms.
  • Silurian

    Silurian
During the Silurian, coral reefs made their first appearence. Land plants also started appearing. In this picture is the oldest known land plant, called Cooksonia.
  • Devonian

    Devonian
The Devonian time period was when plants were discovered along with trees. In this picture is a fern-like leaves of Archaeopteris, one of the first tree-like plants. It grew to an average height of about 10 meters, produced spores, and had a global distribution. The Devonian time period was when plants were discovered along with trees.
  • Caboniferous Mississipian time

    Caboniferous Mississipian time
The Mississippian environment was heavily marine, with seas covering parts of the continent. Most Mississipian rocks are limestone, which are composed of the remains of crinoids, lime-encrusted green algae, or calcium carbonate shaped by waves. In this picture is a map of the mississipian time, the earth was mainly covered by oceans lakes and swamps.
  • Carboniferous Pennsylvanian time

    Carboniferous Pennsylvanian time
The Pennsylvanian period is the time during which most of the world's coal deposits were laid down, the coal being formed from compressed layers of rotting vegetation.More of the land was exposed to the air at this time. Both plants and animals had to adapt to the changing habitat. Short periods of drought brought on by the glaciers which caused mass extinctions of animals that lived in the shallow seas. The shallow seas became swamps between the ocean and the dry land.
  • Permian

    Permian
The Permian time was the last period of the Paleozoic Era.The Permian time affected the marine life the most by far.The Premian time was a time of beginnings and endings. In this picture is shows a Varanops, a pelycosaur reptile of the Permian period.
  • Triassic

    Triassic
During the trassic time period pangea started. The first corals appeared, even though other reef organisms were already present.Frogs, salamanders, crocodiles, turtles, and snakes slunk and slithered on and off the Triassic coast, lakes, and rivers.
  • Jurassic

    Jurassic
The period is named for rock strata found in the Jura Mountains on the border between Switzerland and France, which is what the photo is of.During the Jurassic, the supercontinent Pangaea began to break apart. This created two landmasses, a northern mass and a southern mass. The Jurassic time periods vegetation consisted mainly of seed ferns, cycads, horsetails, conifers, and gingkoes.
  • Cretaceous

    Cretaceous
The Cretaceous Period is the final period of the Mesozoic Era.The changes to the continents continued in the Cretaceous Period. The first dinosaur in the Cretaceous is Tyrannosaurus rex, finally came along during the Cretaceous Period. The picture shown is a picture of Tyrannosaurus rex.
  • Quaternary Pleistocene 11:30pm

    Quaternary Pleistocene 11:30pm
click here for articleThe Pleistocene is the best-known glacial period. The general climate was very cold for much of the seas and regions of the continents. The Pleistocene cooling had a tremendous effect on animal life.Faunas were severely disrupted altogether. Some species became extinct, while others flourished. Many new species have been identified as occurring around this time change and after. New species appeared both on land and at sea.
  • Tertiary Paleocene 7:00 AM

    Tertiary Paleocene 7:00 AM
The Tertiary Period marks the beginning of the Cenozoic Era.The beginning of the Tertiary Period was very warm and moist compared to today’s climate. Much of the earth was tropical or sub-tropical.The mammals became the dominant animals. In fact, the Cenozoic Era is often called the Age of Mammals.
  • Teritary Eocene 9:00 AM

    Teritary Eocene 9:00 AM
During the Eocene time period earth was far warmer during the Eocene than it is now.In this oicture is mammoths during the Eocene time period.
  • Teritary Oligocene 12:00 pm

    Teritary Oligocene 12:00 pm
The Oligocene time period is the end of the Paleogene. Worldwide, this was the time when grasslands began to expand and forests - especially tropical ones - shrank.global cooling that would eventually shift the Earth's climate to one where glaciers were present and ice ages were possible. In this picture is Hyaenodon horridus, a large carnivorous mammal from the White River Oligocene of South Dakota.
  • Teritary Miocene 1:00 pm

    Teritary Miocene 1:00 pm
video click hereIn the Miocene a distinct cooling of the climate resulted in the reduction of forests and an increase in grassy plains. The Miocene was a time of warmer global climates. In this picture is Chalicotherium, a Miocene mammal from Kazakhstan. Chalicotherium was an unusual "odd-toed" hoofed mammal, or perissodactyl.
