    Terror

    Terror
    There was a time of "Terror" which many people suffered and diead (mostly peasants). France had many enemies which caused many bad things to happen in the country. After the time of Terror Robespierre's death and it made a big impact on many French citizens. This was when the french Revolution ended which was in July 28 1794 BC.

    War continues

    The war continues after many things happened with the king. French won the war against the Prussia and Austria. But many other countries joined them to fight against French, for example, Great Britain, Holland and Spain. In this time of the war France had many defeats. So they had to get their army bigger. There were 300,000 French citizens in the army of ages 18, 40 and women were included. All of this people were in the army by 1794.

    french people did not start out good with the war. The Prussians had many advantages and they were able to "control/threaten" the french people.

    Government "Reforms"

    The national Assembly had made a new constitution for France which was approved by louis. The government became a limited constitutional monarchy. There also was the Legislative Assembly, which they could change, reject or approve laws. Still old problems were happening and they were not doing much about it. So many people still wanted a revolution to happen. This people were called the sans-culottes.

    Dawn if the Revolution

    The rich people and some of the third estate were able to go into a debate. Most of them said they wanted to change their way of ruling, they wanted to end the absolute monarchy and start a representative government. This was the first act of the French Revolution.

    The Bastille

    The Bastille
    The French people were ready to fight because of everything that happened after the debate and the Tennis Court Oath. They gathered weapons just in case they had to protect themselves and the mob searching of gunpowder and arms stormed the Bastille, a paris prison. This was also an act in the revolution and it is a very important event which is still celebrated now a days.

    Great Fear

    Many women got angry because the prices of everything was going up and they could not afford it. They started to rebel and walked on Versailles. Then they turned their anger to the King and Queen. They broke in to many places and even killed some of the guards. Women demanded that louis and Marie should return to paris, and they did. peasants started to attack some of the people from the upper classes right after the women did all of this.

    Assembly Reforms France

    Men started to get their rights and their slogan was "Liberty, Equality, Fraternity". A women started to write about women rights but they did not hear her nor respected the women rights. This women was Olympe de Gouges.

    Old Regime

    Old Regime
    The French people got divided into three social classes/estates.
    The privileged estates were the reach people that did not pay any tax and owned 20% of french land.
    The third estate were may people who paid high taxes and they were not as rich as the privileged.
    Then the peasants, they paid really heavy taxes, half of the money they earned went to churches, kings, etc. They believed in liberty, freedom and rights.

    France government got weak

    Many people starved of starvation in 1789 BC because the bread doubled and many people could not a ford it. Louis XVI and his queen, Marie Antoinette got really weak. Louis XVI was indecisive, did not listen to government advice, instead listened to her Queen, who gave poor advice. Marie Antoinette was not making any better to this situation.
