    The Korean War was the first proxy war fought between the Soviet Union and the US. After the fall of the Japanese in WWII, Korea was free, the Soviet wanted to spread communism while the US wanted to contain it. This war was fought over the disagreement of communism between the two groups.

    Montgomery Bus Boycott
    The Montgomery Bus Boycott was a huge push to the Civil Rights movement. What started the boycott was Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat to a white person. This caused controversy all over the nations and many other Civil Rights activists were born as a cause of this event such as MLK.     The Vietnam War was a war against America/South Vietnam and North Vietnam/Vietcong. The cause of this war was the fear of the domino effect. This war was a regretful one because it is kind of the first war that the Americans actually lost.   • Little Rock Nine

    Little Rock Nine
    After the case, Brown vs. Board of Education, all schools were required to be integrated. Many schools ignored this new law. Nine African American Students tried to go to Little Rock's Central High.

    Kennedy's Assassination
    John F. Kennedy was the 35th president of the United States. He dealt with the Cold War and believed in Civil Rights. Unfortunately, the loving president was assassinated by Lee Harvey Oswald. He was assassinated in Texas. His death would go on to allow President Lyndon B. Johnson to pass the civil rights act in memory of JFK. This event supported the Civil Rights Key concept.

    Lyndon B. Johnson becomes President of the U.S.A
    Lyndon B. Johnson was vice president for J.F.K. but after J.F.K.'s assassination, Johnson becomes president. Johnson is known to finish off all of J.F.K.'s plans. He also served a second term and created programs like The Great Society during his presidency. This event is related to the Key Concepts 8.2 III B

    The Civil Rights Act of 1964
    After a long "war" for equallity, the U.S. finally passes the Civil Rights Act in 1964. The legislation outlawed any form of discrimination against, race, gender, age or religion. Although the legislation was passed, it took many years to actually see the results of it. This event related to the key concept of Civil Rights.

    The Watergate scandal was when John Mitchell and John Dean tried to steal documents from the Democratic National Comitee. Instead of exposing this to the public, the Nixon administration tried to cover it up. The releasing of many documents and tapes lead to the resignation of Nixon as president.
