Attending Stanford, a very prestigious private school, will give me a better chance of finding a high paying job right out of college. The iBook says "Students graduating from well-known, well-regarded private schools took home the largest paychecks" (Personal Finance, 6).
  • Period: to

    Attending Stanford

Being thousands of miles away from my family and paying a high tuition for a great school, I will have to be somewhat picky about my spending.
  • Period: to

    Attends Stanford Graduate

I will be working towards my PhD in Biostatistics until I am about about 27, and will hopefully by the end of that be either married or in a serious relationship. This is important towards getting a job as the book mentions "Specialty undergraduate programs, such as
engineering and business programs within national universities,
had the highest employment rates." (Personal Finance, 7) and this would be a specialty program.
  • Buys a New Car

  • Period: to

Canaan Works as a Senior Biostatistician

  • Buys a House

  • Has First Kid

Having a kid is another point in life where my view towards money shifts. The book at one point says "If you have a boyfriend
and girlfriend, you’ll find that money can easily be spent. If you get married and have children, your priorities will shift again." (Personal Finance, 5) showing how I will need to change the way I save and spend money, more of it going to my family than for me.
