Besides having political undertones, The movie also showed great VFX and introduced the now well know suit-motion technique which would be used for years to come. This movie showed how a movie can be more than what's expected to be.

Movies in the past have used CGI like T-2, but none like Jurassic Park. This movie brought dinosaurs back to life in the best way

This movie also showed that the concept of a Cinematic Universe can be done and since then multiple companies and giving it a shot for example : Warner Bros with their DC Extended Universe, Legendary Pictures with Godzilla and Kong, Universal with their classic movie monsters, and 20th Century Fox with the X-Men franchise
