    In 1888 the first flexible film was invented by George Eastman. Calling it Kodak, the company was born and still around today. This invention will later inspire an inventor to make the first official motion picture.

    In 1888 the first surviving motion picture was released. It was recorded by french inventor Louis Le Prince. And called Roundhay Garden Scene. The first surviving silent film.

    In 1892 the Lumiere brothers made projectors built to be displayed on big screens. Unlike Thomas Edison, making the motion picture viewable to a large audience. Once it was first shown/used in Paris in 1995 the room it was used in can be considered the first movie theater.

    The first Nickelodeon appeared. It was a small storefront-type theater that featured films along with closing acts. Such as comedic skits or musical performances.

    In 1908 Motion Picture Patents Company (MPPC) was founded. Behind the idea that a group of inventors could monopolize the market by using their combined patents. Thomas Edison is one of the men & founders of the Company.

    By 1910 Nickelodeon theaters were attracting 26 million views each week. Moving how the people saw films as art to now entertainment. Also spurring the "fight" between MCCP and independent film studio companies. As because of the new surge of interest companies now wanted to make more profit. (Date wrong, year correct)

    The first film shot in Hollywood, California. It was a silent film and directed by D. W. Griffith. At the time the studio- Biograph Company- was still based in New York.

    The first Motion Studio in Hollywood was in 1911. It was built by Filmmaker David Horsley. It produced some of Hollywood's first films.
