    Sony revealed the PS1. They wanted to compete against Nintendo and Sega Saturn.
  • Release

    The Play Station was released in Japan with three games. It was worth $387 in American dollars. It also included a memory card to save high scores and games; a link cable, whereby you could connect two PlayStations and two TVs and play against a friend. the PlayStation sold more than 300,000 units in the first 30 days in Japan.

    Play Station released in America. They had 100,000 units presold already. There were 17 games available.

    It is the best selling home counsel still today. It was compatible with previous game systems and had a new controller. They later came out with smaller, lighter consoles called slimlines.

    It now can use Blu-Ray discs. It then released a slim version of the PlayStation 3 that did not allow the PlayStation 2 games to be played. This one was lighter, thinner, and had a software change. It can also connect to the Wifi.

    This console placed emphasis on social interaction and integration with other devices and services. The controller was redesigned and improved. Better in game chatting.

    PlayStation came out with a Slim and a Pro version to better support some of its games. "You won’t be able to deny that the PS4’s 900p/1080p HD resolution makes even the cross-platform games so much better."
  • PlayStation 5 ???

    Since Microsoft came out with the Xbox One X, Sony might be in trouble with their consumers wanting the newest product. No one knows when PS5 will come out but there is a possibility it will be soon. Sony has a system that's capable of both HDR and 4K gameplay which is more than enough for the time being for gamers.
    There might not be a point in launching a new system right now if the focus is going to be on visual enhancements.
  • PlayStation 6

    The gaming console will be a USB that you hook into your TV and the controller will be Bluetooth. We are working on upgrading some of our games to have a hologram to play against. With that game there will be dots sold that you stick on your body to track your moves.
