She was the youngest American woman in space. This is relevant becasue it helped to break down the gender barriers in space travel. -
Terrorists Hijack Filght 847
The 139 passengers and 8 crew members were abducted by two hijackers who had two grenades and other weapons. This is relevant becasue it led to the improvement of airport security and aslo helped to prevent other occurences like this. -
Wreck of the Titanic Found
The titanic had sat lost on the sea bed for over 70 years when a team of researchers who were looking for it discovered it. This is relevant because it furthered the knowledge of the titanic wreck. -
Space shuttle Challenger Incident
The Challenger had completed 9 succesful missions and was scheduled into annother mission, it would have been its tenth. When 73 seconds into its mission it exploded, instantly killing all crew members. This is relevant, because it was the first horrific killing ever in the history of shuttles, and it killed 7 astronauts. -
Chernobyl Melt Down
The plant had a human error occurence, and it blew its top. Spilling large ammounts of radioactive materials. This is important because it created a large need for the reform of nuclear power and its production. -

This was the single largest drop in one day ever recorded in the markets history. This was caused by overevaluation, market psycology and program trading. This is relevant because it changed the way the American market functioned. -

Commonly known as the web or seen as www.blahblah.com. was invented and changed the entire world, not only America. This is extremely relevant, because with out it this presentation wouldnt have been possible. -

This was as everyone knows a large barrier which tried to completly cut off East and West Berlin. The destruction of this wall was extremly monumental and created a certain freedom that had not previously been felt in the Berlin's since the wall was erected. -
Hubble Telescope
The Hubble Telescope was launched as the first servicible space telescope, there were 5 missions, all successful. It is dertirmined that the telescope will last until 2020 and it will then be replaced by the newer James Webb Space Telescope. This is relevant because the pictures and information brought back reveal more about the solar system to us. -

There were 1048 people affeced by this bombing, but if it had been succesful it would have killed tens of thousands of people. This is relevant because it reminded Americans that they wernt invincible to attacks. -

The Hutu were resentful of the Tutsies who were more fourtinate because of their ethinicity. the Hutus decimated the Tutsie population in a mass genocide movement. Tjis is relevant because it impacted the way Americans viewed genocide. -
