    Battle of Gonzales
    Mexicans came to take the cannon only to find it guarded by 18 Texian soldiers and surrounded by a river. This was the start of the revolution!
  • Battle of Goliad

    Battle of Goliad
    The Battle of Goliad was the second battle of the Texas Revolution. Texas settlers attacked the Mexican soldiers at Presidio La Bahía. They defeated the Mexicans and took $10,000 worth of supplies.
  • Capture of San Antonio

    Capture of San Antonio
    Texians attacked San Antonio and took full control ( know as the Alamo). This is an important town in Texas.
  • Siege of the Alamo

    After surrounding the Alamo for 13 days, Santa Anna and his men advanced on the Alamo and got closer. In response, William B. Travis asked for help.

    Mexicans won the attack. All fighting men were killed but women and children were allowed to leave.

    Colonists fled east with the Texas army. They hoped to cross the Sabine River to the U.S. Many women and children dies of hunger and disease.
  • Goliad Massacre

    James Fannin and his men were ordered to leave but waited too long. They were surrounded at Coleto Creek and surrendered. About 20 escaped with the help of " The Angel of Goliad", Fracita Alavez. Fannin was taken back to Goliad where he was executed by the order of Santa Anna. Over 350 people were killed.
  • Battle of San Jacinto

    Battle of San Jacinto
    Texas army surprise attacked Santa Anna in mid-afternoon. Battle only lasted 18 minutes and Texas came out victorious.Santa Anna escaped during the battle but was later found and captured. This gained Texas thier independance!
