    World War 2 all started when Germany (By Germany I mean Adolf Hitler) wanted to be rebellious and go against the treaty of Versailles and started to invade East Europe, but France and Britain told Germany that they couldn't invade Poland or else they would attack, but they attacked anyways on Poland and the beginning of World War ll began.

    Bombing of Pearl Harbor
    After Germany invaded Poland it was a war between Germany, Britain,and France, America wasn't involved yet. Japan had entered the war as a Axis power to help Germany defeat the Allied power(France, Britain,Soviet Union, and America)but The Axis Power (Germany, Japan,and Italy) already defeated France so to America involved Japan diced to bomb Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. Over 2,300 Americans died in this event, so in order to get back at Japan for what they did to Hawaii they had to enter World War 2.

    D-Day
    D-Day was a day to remember for the biggest water-to-land invasion in history. German troops were waiting on the shores of Normandy, France when the Allied force came along they were ready for battle, as General Dwight Eisenhower leading them. A lot of heavy gunfire was involved and about 425,000 people died in this battle, both Allied and German forces. Overall, the invasion was successful for the Allied troops.

    Battle of Iwo Jima
    The battle of Iwo Jima was an interesting battle because the Japanese have dug 11 miles of tunnels throughout the island and then they hide in the tunnels, the the US marines came they didn't attack until there was a certain amount of marines on the shore, when there was they attacked. After 36 days of fighting, the Japanese was finally defeated, that was when the famous picture,''Marine Corps" was taken. In this battle over 6,800 American soldiers died.

    VE-Day stands for Victory over Europe day, on this day Germany surrendered to the Europeans, but battle wasn't over, Japan still didn't surrender. Germany asked to surrender May 2, 1945, but on May 8, 1945 was when the Allied force accepted their surrender, war was all over with in Europe.

    On this date, America wanted Japan to surrender, so they decided that they would drop a bomb on the city of Hiroshima, Enola Gay would drop the first bomb, many say it was like an exploding sun. More than 75,000 died in this ''attack'', but they still didn't surrender.

    Bombing of Nagasaki
    Even though Japan didn't surrender to the first bomb, America would still try. August 9, 1945 America dropped another bomb, but this time on the city of Nagasaki, finally Japan surrendered. A few days later the world celebrated V-J day.

    VJ-Day stands for" Victory over Japan day" which was an amazing day for most people in the world, World War 2 was over! Japan finally surrendered, it was announced around the world, many celebrated on this day. In this war a lot of lives were lost, about 300,000 American soldiers died, and 15 million from other countries.
