Evaluation Question Six- What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?

  • Blogger

    Blogger
Blogger- the first programme I used was Blogger as it is an easy and straightforward way to share my findings and progress. Primarily, I found blogger reasonably difficult to use as I was unsure of how to upload prezis and word documents that I had completed but soon learnt that I needed to embed the HTML of the document. I have found that blogger is successful as there are rarely any technological problems with it and it allows you to upload a file of any size meaning my work wasn't restricted.
  • TimeToast

    TimeToast
TimeToast- after signing up to TimeToast, I created a timeline of everything I had to complete and the deadlines it needed to be in for. This was beneficial and successful as my work was on time, but also because it is an internet timeline; this means that I can access it anywhere at any time and can't lose it, unlike a paper version where it could be broken or damagaed or forgotten.
  • Slideshare

    Slideshare
Slideshare- at this point I had already completed a lot of preparation work like analysis' of proffessional magazines and mood boards etc. But i hadn't learnt or found a way to upload these to my blog on blogger. When I found slideshare, I overcame this problem because it is a simplistic way to upload your work in which all you have to do after is embed the code into blogger.
  • Photography

    Photography
Photography- once I had completed my preliminary school magazine task (practice for my music magazine) and drafts for my magazine, I was able to start photographing the types of things that I wanted to feature visually in my magazine to make it stand out and catch the eye. After taking at least 60 photos and editing around 30 of them, I could only pick 7 to ensure my magazine did not look too cluttered and unsophisticated. The camera (cannon E05 5D) technology I used was straight forward.
  • Youtube

    Youtube
Youtube- I used youtube at this time as I had started experimenting with photoshop and seeing what I could figure out myself, but I found that i was clumsy with the technology and didn't fully understand how to use it which was essentially affecting my prgress and standard of my magazine. Youtube was successful in my project as it produced many photoshop tutorials that I used to help guide me through the process of photoshop.
  • Adobe Photoshop

    Adobe Photoshop
Adobe Photoshop- this was when I found that I fully understood photoshop and how to produce a page in a quick effective manner. Photoshop allowed me to edit photos to make the quality of them more aesthetically pleasing, but also to align things accurately to get a sense of symmetry and clear spacial awareness. Other than not understanding how to use it at first, photoshop is an efficient programme to use but I still need some more practice with it to make my products of a higher standard.
  • 1001 Fonts/Fontspace

    1001 Fonts/Fontspace
1001 Fonts/Fontspace- I used these two websites to plan, experiment with and create my masthead on the cover page. I found that the websites were beneficial to use as they provided me with thousands of different fonts whilst still allowing me to change the subject of the masthead, size and colour. It was also easy to transfer the masthead onto photoshop with these websites which made the task more efficient and effectively more professional.
  • PowerPoint

    PowerPoint
PowerPoint- although powerpoint isn't necessarily a very vreative way to present my work, I managed to include lots of pictures so that it wasn't text/analysis based and was more interesting than just reading slides and slides of text. I used powerpoint to show the process of editing that my cover page, contents page and double page spread went through to reach the stage/standard they are at now. Photoshop was a successful programme to use as it leads the reader through each slide separately.
  • Microsoft Word

    Microsoft Word
Microsoft Word- I used this programme simply to plan my evaluation questions and set out all of the information that I need to include in them. It was a successful technique as it made it quicker and simpler for me to be able to present my evaluation questions in a more ceative style than just uploading paragraphs and paragraphs onto my blog.
  • Prezi

    Prezi
Prezi- as our evaluation questions need to be presented in a fun/creative manner, I decided to use prezi as the background designs on it are relatively artistic and visually appealing, whilst having a level of complexity to them as a method of stimulating the brain. Also, I found that the fluid presentation mode of it would appeal to anyone watching it as it is easy to understand and is a little bit spontaneous which will interest the viewer.
