Che received a medical degree from the University of Buenos Aires in Argentina. He was a very intellectual person, even though he came from a poor upbringing. -
Che joins forces with Castro
As Castro and Guevara are getting closer and closer to taking over the country, they finally join forces. They soon plan to take over Havana and set up a Socialist government. At this point the rest of the world began to realize how serious Cuba was about anti-imperialism. -
Havana
Castro and Che basically walked into Havana and set up a new government without much resistance. This is the beginning of what Che hoped would be a new start for Cuba as a country. -
Administrator
Guevara became the director of the Industrial Department of the National Institute of Agrarian Reform, president of the National Bank of Cuba, and the Minister of Industry. He had a lot on his plate and even more on his mind in the field of reforoming the country. -
Book published
Che wrote and had a book published called Guerilla Warfare. It was a way to offer a very simple and practical guide for those who wished to join the fight. The idea behind it was to create a "people's army" that was invincible. -
Iconic Photo
This was taken at a memorial service for the deceased of the La Coubre incident. On March 4th 1960, a large freighter ship spontaneously exploded. Many were injured and killed and Castro blamed the US for the incident. -
Che speaks to UN
Che presented his ideals to a committee at the UN. He was very clear that he wished to impliment many reforms in the country of Cuba. He didn't like how nosey the US was being and said that the Cubans would drive out any foreign influence. -
Che drops out
Che formally resignes his post as Minister of Industry and most likely backs out of his other leadership roles. He drops out of the public spotlight for reasons unknown. His whereabouts are very obscure from this time on. -
Che in Bolivia
Che has set up a guerilla group in Bolivia to attempt another revolution with those people. In a few short months he is all but unsuccessful and is captured and has his men whiped out. He is then shortly thereafter executed. -
