Erikson's Timeline Project

  • Middle Childhood Industry Vs. Inferiority - August 21, 2011

Britney (8 years old) moved to another city and had to make new friends at her new school while trying to adapt to the new education system. In this stage, children are faced with trying to blend together their social life with having to learn and master skills educationally with confidence (industry). On the other side, (inferiority) children are not able to show they are comfortable with certain skills; causing them to feel inferior to other people around them.
  • Identity vs. Identity Confusion - February 16, 2019

Britney (16 years old) just got her drivers license. She wants to use her freedom of driving to find a job, be more social, and have fun! In this stage, teenagers are developing their identity while also having to take on the challenges of trying to balance life (identity). This can be difficult and cause adolescents to question themselves in who they truly are and raise confusion of what they are going to do to fit the image they are making of themself (identity confusion).
  • Intimacy Vs. Isolation - September 02, 2024

    Intimacy Vs. Isolation - September 02, 2024
Britney (20 years old) recently got engaged to her fiance Kyle and moved to Alaska as he is stationed at JBER in the Air Force. In this stage, Erikson shows the value and desire for a long lasting relationship and committing to one person for the rest of your life (intimacy) while also on the other side not being able to commit to this due to the individualistic side of your identity that you formed as an adolescent (isolation).
