    Leif Eriksson

    Leif Eriksson
    He was from Iceland and was the first explorer to explore North America. He founded a Norse settlement in Newfoundland (Canada). He lived from 970 to 1020
  • 1492

    Christopher Columbus

    Sailed the ocean blue in 1492. He thought he made it to the Philippines but in fact made land in what is today known as the Caribbean. He sailed for Spain (seeing as this was the only country who thought he was on to something).

    Hernando de Soto

    Spanish conquistador who wanted to conquer Florida for the Spanish crown, him and the other conquistadors became the first Europeans to cross the Mississippi River.
