Dexter Season 1 ep 1: Contrast Colors
When Dexter is out to work as a blood spatter analyzer he wants to seem as normal as possible. But when he is around death all day, he cant help but be mesmerized by it. So they use a color scheme of a dark layer on top of a lighter one to show how he wants to be percieved as normal and how he really feels on the inside -

When Dexter is with his girlfirned he wants to seem as normal as possible, as to not give away that he is a serial killer. So he is dressed in really plan white or baige -
Dokes Season 1 ep1 Darkness
Sgt. Dokes is a detective on the Miami Metro Poice force. He is often portrayed as a strong character with athority but also seems to have something inside him too that is a little dark. Thats why he dresses up in darker clothes al ot of the time. -
Dexter and Dokes Season 1 ep1
A connecttion is made between Dokes and Dexter. They wear the same color scheme when they are together. To show that even though Dokes chases Serial killers, and Dexter is one, they are more alike than you would think. -

Dexter Epsiode 2
Through this episode not much has chaged. This episode was mostly spent outside so dexter had the contrasting color scheme going on again. -
Dokes Episode 2
Dokes once agan mathces the color schemes of Dexter. We will keep a close look on how this progresses. -
Dexter Episode 3
Dexter is on the prowl, so you know what that mean. Dark on dark. Whenever he is doing something or going to do something he is wearing darker shaded colors -
Dokes Episode 3
Dokes once again wearing dark colored clothing. Once again showing a parallellism with dexter -
Dexter Episode 4
There seems to be this reoccurring blue color everytime Dexter is out. Blue is a very normal color. Eveyrday people seem to use it but Dexter has a blue that seems to be a tad bit lighter than the rest. I think maybe it could be to show everyone how normal he is but you can see hes trying a little to hard. -
Dokes Episode 4
Dokes is once again wearing the same clor scheme as Dexter but this time a darker color. While dexter has the lighter blue, Dokes has the darker blue. Almost to show that Dokes knows that something isnt right with Dexter and is on the Hunt -
Dokes and Dexter Episode 5
You can start to see a change in color progression. Now Dexter and Dokes dont have similar clothing styles at all. DOkes is becoming a darker, more angry character. While Dexter is staying similar to himself with the contrasting colors -
Dexter Episode 6
Dexter is making a habit into wearing these lighter shaded colors. Maybe he is progressing to the side of normality. Not making it into an image but to actually be normal. -
Dokes Episode 6
Dokes is wearing a brighter color in this episode. Maybe signifying happiness. -

Dexter is making blue a regular thing. I think Blue is the indicator of normality and possibly vulnerability -
Dokes Season 7
The character growth of Dokes is very stagnant. He seems to be the same character with the same dark colors and the occasional light color here and there. -
Dexter Episode 8
Dexter is wearing dark again when confronting a victim. But i noticed in public, he rarely wears solid colors. A lot of vertical stripes. -

Dokes once again with the dark colors. He seems to like Purple, Organce, and Brown and interchange between the two. -
Dexter and Dokes Episode 11
Dexter and Dokes has this relationship where Dokes is out to get Dexter because he can sense that there is something off about him. So with the contrast in colors of the styale, you have Dokes how is darker and Dexter who is still dark, but lighter shades of dark colors. This is to make Dokes into the antagonist and Dexter the protagonist. -
Dexter and Dokes Episode 12
Dexter and Dokes charaters come to an end this season. Dokes stays very stagnant for the most part with this colors. Always dark. While Dexter changes his outfits a lot to shape what he needs to be percieved as. When hes on the prowl and in killing mode its always dark. Out in public, light on dark or just light on light. In this last picture you see Dexter's progression. He is wear the same outfit as in the fis picture for season one. But it is light. Dexter has become a more normal.
