Critical Life Junctures

  • Middle School

    During my study hall, I would spend my time in our school's CID classroom. This is where I first found my passion for special education and decided I wanted to become a teacher.
  • High School

    During my senior year of high school, I discovered UW-Superior at a college fair. This when I made my decision to attend UWS the next year. In June of 2012, I graduated from high school.
  • Working at a Daycare

    In 2014, I started working at a daycare in Superior, WI. During my time at the daycare I learned about how children develop and the different needs of children of various ages.
  • Student Teaching & Graduation

    In August through December of 2016, I student taught at an elementary school in Superior, WI. This was my first experience being in a classroom full-time. I believe this time period is essential to who I am as a person and educator. In January 2017, I graduated from UW-Superior with a degree in Elementary Education.
  • Substitute Teacher

    In February 2017, I started working as a substitute teacher. During this time, I was able to work with various ages and settings. I spent a lot of time in a high school special education class. This renewed my love for special education.
  • Taylors Falls Elementary

    In August of 2017, I was hired at Taylors Falls Elementary as the SLD special education teacher.
  • Graduate Program

    In September 2017, I returned to UW-Superior for the Special Education Graduate Program to obtain my license in special education.
