    Northwest Ordinance
    Considered one of the significant acts of the Continental Congress. Created a fedural territory by the Great Lakes in the north, then in the south to the Ohio River. Land Ordinance Act of 1784, this act prohinited slavery in the outlaw territory. But it didn't extend to other future states to be made in that territory. Congress declines undertake of bar slavery stirs abolitionist sentiments which connects to what caused civil war.
