    Colombus "Discovers" the Americas
    Colombus kickstarts Europe's Age of Exploration by accidentally reaching the Americas in search for India. Funded by Queen Isabella of Spain, the voyage was in search for receiving tremendous profits by reaching the Indies. The Americas were not a barren, uninhabited land though, many First Nations already lived there.

    John Cabot

    John Cabot
    Cabot reaches Newfoundland, making him the first European explorer to encounter what is now Canada. He claimed the land for the King of Britain.He was actually in search for the Northwest passage in order to reach Asia. Cabot explored the Canadian coastline and named many islands and capes.

    Jacques Cartier

    Jacques Cartier
    Cartier claims land for France and also discovers the area now called Quebec while looking for a new route Asia per request by King Francis l. He explored the St.Lawrence River and gave Canada its name. He kidnaps natives of the Quebec area, which leads to them refusing to trade with france. His fame came to an end when his priceless "gold" and "diamonds" turned out to be fools gold.

    By this time, France has begun expanding their empire and colonizing new lands. Champlain establishes Port Royal, a fur trading post on the Northwest Coast of Nova Scotia. The post fails, so Champlain moves to Quebec and establishes a city there, which becomes the central spot for fur trading. He fights with the Hurons against the Iroquis, gaining their alliance.

    The addition of the seigneural system into society organizes the people of the colony. This system is the same as what is used in France. In order to further populate, the filles de roi are sent to live among the colony. These french women are paired with a man in order to populate, and also take care of the children. Soldiers are sent from France to New France to protect them from any threats. These aspects make the colony significantly stronger

    Europe's Many Growing Colonies in NA
    As North America becomes known as the New World, many european nations try to establsih new colonies. The Spanish attemp to colonize in the BC area. French English and Dutch and Spain are all trying to expand. From this, the Thirteen Colonies were established. With the decline of the Spanish empire and failed colonization, the French and British inhabit most of the land eventually.

    Wars between France and British
    By this point, the French and the British were the two competing nations. Various wars occured including the Nine Years War and King George's War. The French were focused on expanding on the fur trade and the British wanted to farm, so their goals could not be reached in unison.
    In the end, the British win claiming all but Fort Louisberg.
