    Roanoke is located on the coast of North Carolina. Also known as "The Lost Colony." John White, the governor, was sent back to Spain to get supplies but war broke out while he was in Spain.     Jamestown is located in Virginia. It was the first settlement by the English in North America. One of the ships that was on its way to Jamestown was John Smith. And in 1612 John Rolfe and Pocahontas introduced the growing of tobacco to The colony.

    The Mayflower, Plymouth and Mayflower Compact
    The Mayflower was a ship that took the pilgrims to the new world. There was another ship called the Speedwell that was supposed to sail with all of the supplies, but there were some complications with the ship so they transferred everything to the Mayflower and set sail. Plymouth, MA was were they landed. More than half of them died but with the help of Squanto they survived. The Mayflower compact was the first government document in the new world.

    The Maryland Toleration Act granted religious freedom to all of Maryland's inhabitants. George Calvert had the idea of traveling to America for religious freedom but died before he could see his plan through. His son, Cecil, took over his fathers plan managing the the colony.

    The Proclamation of 1763 was when the "representatives from various American Indian tribes, as well as British, French, and Spanish leaders" came together to end the French and Indian war. The French had to give up their land to the British.
