A series of battles between the French and the British in order to gain control of North America, the Caribbean, and India. Britain had aquired a large debt through this. -
Sugar Act
The Sugar Act was a tax on imported foreign sugar. This useless tax was ignored by many of the colonists. Representatives of the Sugar Act were harrassed. -

The Quartering Act was an act such that all American colonists would treat troops with hospitality and give them food. Many dissagreed athough this was an appropriate act. This displayed the colonist's resistance to authority. -
The Gaspee Affair
The Gaspee ship attempted to search the Hannah (a small trading ship) before landing in the providence. The Hannah had not complied with the Gaspee crew. After reeling them into the Namquid point, the Gaspee was stuck and the Hannah sped away. -
The Tea Act
The Act was to help the East India Company flourish. It gave colonists a cheaper tea to buy, however no one believed it. Although it truly was a bargain price, the colonist were afraid that the tea was a source of revenue. -

Battle of the Chesapeake
When several English ships sailed to the Chespeake, they realized that several French ships created a wall. Ships were engaged in heavy firing and the English were badly defeated. This was also a start of the Franco- American alliance. -

The Continental Congress of the United States the temporary peace with Great Britain. This brought the United States one step closer to the end of the Revolutionary War. -

After being signed by multiple men, the Treaty of Paris ended the American Revolutionary war. The treaty also established peace between Great Britain, France, Spain, and the Netherlands. -
Washington Resigns as Commander
General George Washington resigned as the Commander in Chief of the Continental Army. He returns home in Mount Vermon. It was a job that he had not desired. -

The Constitution was written by James Madison and it set the terms regarding representations within states. It consists of Articles and was the "Supreme law of the land".
