    Iron Curtain Speech
    Winston Churchill gave a speech because he as concerned about the Soviets taking over Eastern Europe and creating a totalitarian government, he also wanted the United States to be involved. The Iron Curtain was a division between Western European capitalist countries and Eastern European Communist countries.
  • Cuban Missile Crisis

    Cuban Missile Crisis
    Cuba and U.S. leaders had a 13 day crisis because Cuba had nuclear weapons that was sent to them by the Soviets. The U.S. leaders told president Kennedy and he ordered a naval blockade to be put up to keep Cuba's army away and to stop any other weapons to get delivered to Cuba. After the U.S. and Cuba kept negotiating day after day, Cuba finally decided dismantle the missiles if the U.S. agreed to not invade Cuba, the U.S. agreed and the blockade was removed.

    Cultural Revolution

    In 1966 a communist leader named Mao Zedong wanted to rule over China´s government. He started the Cultural revolution where land was being taken away from landowners and given off to other people. He also started a group called the Red Guards where students would harass elders and intellectuals. This all happened because Mao Zedong wanted to be leader of China´s government, everything positive that he wanted to happen didn´t, it made thousands of people suffer.
