    The Truman doctrine was a foreign policy were the United States pledged to help any state that was resisting communist control. It was a pledge to help rebuild the economy of those countries after the war was over.

    The main cause of the Berlin Blockade was because of the cold war, the soviet union wanted to minimize how much France and the United States could travel into their section of berlin because at the moment the United States was trying to implement their containment policy on the Soviet Union.

    A war between North and South Vietnam because of communism. North Vietnam was supported by the Soviet Union and the south was supported by the United States. It lasted around 19 years and the U.S ended physical support in 1973, in the end the communists took over South Vietnam.

    October 4th, 1957 caused fear in America because the Soviet Union became the first to successfully launch a satellite into space orbit. Americans thought this was a sign of the technical advantage the Soviet Union had started gaining on the U.S. This also scared America because the thought that the Soviet Union could now spy on them and they couldn’t stop them.

    The program with the goal of landing a human on the moon was introduced by president kennedy. The first successful mission was apollo 11 and was a mark in history for the world were it showed Americas great technological power. It took millions of dollars and had several failures, in one of the fails a team of astronauts lost their lives.

    U.S president, Eisenhower, orders an embargo on all trades with Cuba, and the soviets start providing economic and military aid. Soviet leader, Khrushchev, secretly built nuclear missiles in Cuba and Kennedy demands their removal. The U.S made several attempts to overthrow Castro and failed, but the Soviets removed the missiles and the U.S agreed not to invade Cuba.

    Mao Zedong had a colt like group called the red guards, made up of teenagers, that tried to establish a society were workers and peasants were all equal. They shut down schools and colleges to stamp out intellectuals, as well as forcing them to do hard labor and executing thousands.

    The soviets invade Czechoslovakia because they begin protesting against communism. Soviets target buildings were the rebellion ideas are broadcasted, meanwhile people illegally broadcast and ask for help. The western nations didn't want war and therefore don't interfere, after eight months all resistance died out.
