    The cold war involved all soviet satellites, or all countries under soviet control. A cold war is Tension between countries without actual fighting. The cold war took place in all of the communist countries and the U.S. The cold war was in attempt to get all countries communists. the cold war effected society in america because it made the citizens of the U.S. think that we would become communist if the intensity of the situation continued to rise.

    NATO/Warsaw Pact
    NATO, or North Atlantic Treaty Organization, is where the members(WWII allies) agreed to help one another if they were attacked by a nonmember. This group of countries were also a military and political alliance, this means that they will not only help each other with acts of war within there group members, but they will also help with political crises. The Warsaw Pact was the soviet unions millitary alliance set up against the NATO alliance buy the Soviet Union and the soviet satellites.

    Rosa parks made a decision one day to not give up her seat on the bus and it turned into a national movement in removing segregation. On December 1, 1955, she didn't give her seat on the bus to a white passenger which led to the Montgomerybus boycott and other marches to end segregation. Martin Luther King jr. joined the movement and it gainedmore attention. When the NAACP got involved this became a huge deal and it eventually with enough protesting and the boycott, segregation ended on the bus.

    The Cuban Missle crisis began when the Soviet Union began supplying Cuba with missles so there could be Missle launch sites closer to the U.S. There were several Missle sites pointed right at the U.S. Under 100 miles from the coast of Florida. America sent a U-2 spy plane to take pictures, this confirmed that Cuba was planning to attack the U.S. With the help of the Soviet Union. The U.S. Set up a blockade to stop the soviet ships from coming to Cuba. The Soviet Union turned back.

Born on January 8, 1935, the king had no idea what was to come.he was a young performer, winning a talent contest for the fist time at the age of only 8. It all began when he was on the Ed Sullivan show. he sang so good he became a world renown star within a few weeks. He lived in Memphis, TN. and his house was calledGraceland. He had 94 gold singles and 40 gold albums and stared in 33 films. He died on Aug.161977.

    The Vietnam war was caused because north Vietnam became communist. The U.S. got involved because we didn't want south Vietnam to become communist to. We sent 500,000 troops over to do search and destroy missions, or find and kill anything you see. Many people didn't like the war and they were called "doves" and the people that likeed the war were called "hawks." 58,000 Americans were killed and 1,000,000 Vietnamese were killed and this war destroyed Vietnams economy. We still did end up losing.

Neil arm strong was the first man on the moon and when he walked of apollo 11, he said, "One small step for man, one giant leap to mankind.¨ he walked on the moon at 10:56pm. we planted an american flag and brought back samples to study. we were the first people on the moon.

    Jimmy Carter was elected president in 1976 and stayed president til 1980. his political party was democrat. He was president when the Helsinki Agreement came around. the Helsinki agreement addressed global issues and with the cold war brewing, it effected the soviet union. Another big impact that he was president for was the Olympic boycott in 1980. The Olympic boycott was when Carter declined the Olympic Games in Moscow because Soviet troops failed to withdraw from Afghanistan.

As her class was watching her go into space black smoke appeared and suddenly burst into flames. 59 seconds after take off the shuttle disintegrated over the Atlantic ocean with no survivors .

    The financial crisis of 2008 was the closest we've been to a great depression since the 1930's. Companies that heavily relayed on credit suffered greatly, especially the american auto industry. The government tried to help businesses out of the trouble but they didn't help as much as they could have, narrowing us closer and closer to the depression all over again. This impacted heavily on the U.S. because the unemployment rate shot up to 7.2% and america lost over 2 million jobs.

    George W. Bush was president of the United States from 2000 through 2008. He was part of the Republican Party. One major event that happened during his presidential term was 9-11. This was a terrorist attack on the U.S. on 9/11/01. Two planes crashed into the world trait centers in New York, and plane crashed into on side of the pentagon, and another was taking down by the passengers and crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. This caused the whole country to fret and it was a very sad for the U.S.
