China Becomes Communist
China becomes a communist country in October of 1949. This occured after Chinese civil war. Mao Zedong declared China to be called the Peoples Republic of China. -
Korean War
War between the North and South Korea. North Korea invaded South Korea. North Korea had taken almost 90% of South Korea. South Korea started to fight back, and went all the way up into North Korea. This war lasted 3 years. -
Hydrogen created by USA
The soviets had a success with there atomic bomb, so the US had to step up with a better weapon, so they created the Hydrogen Bomb. The Hydrogen bomb was a bomb that had unlimited yeild, It had a major effect on its area that it had exploded on. No exact dates were released on when the making of the bomb was being created, but it was being built in the 1950's. -
Space Race
The Space race was between the Soviet Union, and the US. This was a challenge to see which country could get a man on the moon. It all began on August 2 1955. This was the begining of satilites and other orbiting objects. -

The Vietnam war was between the dates of november 1st 1955 and april 30th of 1975. 58,000 American soldiers were killed in this war. The US surendered in 1973. It took till 1975 to remove all the soldiers that remained there -
Cuban Missle crisis
On October 22, 1962, President Kennedy addressed the United States that there is defidentally missiles in Cuba. The United States have set up a blockade of ships to stop Russian ships from bringing more supplies for the missiles. The United States had gotton the Russians to remove the missles from Cuba, only if the US removed the missles from Turkey. -

On Febuary 21 of 1972, Nixon went on a trip to China.Nixon was looking to improve relations with other countries. The US wanted prevent the divison and seperation by other countries. -
1972 Basketball game in the Olympics
The Basketball game was held at Rudi-Sedlmayer-halle in Munich, Germany. It was a game between the US, and the Soviet Union.It was the first time the US had not won a gold metal since 1936. The soviets had managed to win with a buzzer shot.
