    The Missouri Compromise
    The years that followed the 1803 Louisiana Purchase, the Congress was debating about Slavery because of Missouri’s application. Ultimately, the Congress agreed and the agreement became known as the Missouri Compromise. However, Thomas Jefferson has heard about this and said that This is only a reprieve, not the final sentence. He has told us that slavery will never end and this is one of the thing that happened but didn’t stopped the Civil War.

    In august of 1831, a slave called Nat Turner has created a chaos in southern Virginia. Fifty-five slaves including Turner was executed for their role in the insurrection. Although small-scale slave uprisings were fairly common in the American South, Nat Turner’s rebellion was the bloodiest. The government of Virginia prohibited the education. This failed stopping the civil war because they not only triggered all those slaves had an uprising, but also stopped the education from them.

     The Wilmot Proviso
    There was a piece of legislation proposed by David Wilmot at the close of the Mexican-American War. If this passes the Proviso will not allowing United States have outlawed slavery in territory as a result of the war. The intensity of the debate surrounding the Proviso became the first serious discussions of the secession. This is one of the leading to the civil war.

    Because of the debate over the Wilmot Proviso, two of the senators managed to broker a shaky accord with the Compromise of 1850 and the compromise said that they didn’t do anything he has said. Although the agreement successfully postponed the immediate war between the North and South, it didn’t the problem between them. So that is why this is one of the reasons that the Civil war happened.

    In 1858, there is a big debate between Stephen Douglas and Abraham Lincoln. There is a total of seven debates that happened. They have discussed about slavery. Although Douglas win the debates, Lincoln got really famous because of it and enabled his nomination for president in 1860. This debated didn’t do anything to the public but it was a great “foil” for the Civil War to began
