Missouri Compromise
The missouri Compromise was a compromise between the North & South about whether Missouri could be a slave state in the Union & Maine could be a Free state. Compromise of 1850
The Compromise of 1850 were 5 laws passed by Congress to keep the North & South from starting a war between each other to keep the country together. California's entry into the U.S was part of the reason this compromise was made because the South was outraged when California entered as a free state causing an unbalance between the North & South . Battle of Antietam
Confederate leader Lee wanted to take the fight to the Union but needed more supplies so, he pushed to Maryland.
