  • Rosa Parks

Rosa Parks was born February 4th 1913. Her and every other ‘colored’ person had to give up their seats to white people and move to the back of the bus. Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat not only because she was tired and didn’t feel like getting up. She was arrested because of this. Rosa Parks was a strong woman and helped change History. She sadly died not to long ago on October 24th 2005. She lived to be 92 years old. Without her things most likely wouldn't be the same as they are now.
  • Montgomery Bus Boycott

The bus boycott was started by Rosa Parks. The Montgomery bus boycott was where the African Americans (Or Blacks) refused to ride on buses if they had to sit in the back because of ‘white’ people. Buses could not afford to loose these people as their customers because more ‘blacks’ rode the buses than ‘whites’. When Rosa Parks was arrested the people in her community heard about it and wanted to help and do something about it, which is what started the Montgomery bus boycott.
  • Little Rock Nine

The little rock nine started in 1957, it was where nine (9) students went to a high school in Little Rock Arkansas. They were African American students so many people fought against them being there. People would threaten them for their lives and threaten about their families and friends. As you would guess this wasn’t a pleasant time to live in. They didn’t give up, and kept trying no matter how hard it might be to see everyone so upset with them. They made it through and were very proud.
