    Magna Carta

    It was the first formal document stating that a King had to follow the laws of the land and it guaranteed the rights of individuals against the wishes of the King.This document is one of the most important document in history. It guaranteed people certain rights and bound the king to certain laws.At the time, England was mainly operated on a feudal system of land ownership.

    The French and Indian War was the North American theater of the worldwide Seven Years' War. The war was fought between the colonies of British America and New France, with both sides supported by military units

    King George III issued a proclamation that forbade colonial settlement west of the Appalachian Mountains. He hoped to placate Native Americans who had sided against him during the recently concluded Seven Years' War.

  • Quartering Act

    British soldiers are to find room and board in the American colonies.It also required the colonies to house British soldiers in barracks provided by the colonies.
  • Formation of the Sons of Liberty

    This organization of American colonists organized the 13 colonies. It formed together to protect the rights of colonists and to fight the taxes from the British government.
  • Tea Act

    The policy created resentment among the American colonists. It was designed to make up the East India Company which was suffering financially and was burdened with eighteen million pounds of unsold tea. The tea was to be shipped out directly to the colonies and sold at a bargain price.

    This day represents the declaration of Independence and the birth of the USA as an independent nation. Independence Day commemorates the Fourth of July, 1776, the date borne on the Declaration of Independence, by which representatives of “the thirteen united States of America” formally announced their irrevocable political separation from the government of Great Britain.
