    The Marist Brothers, is an community of Catholic Institute of Brothers from all around the world. In 1817, St. Marcellin Champagnat who is a priest from France, founded this organization, with the goal of educating young people, especially those who were neglected from their parents.
  • Fr. John Joseph Therry

    Fr. John Joseph Therry was born in Cork, Ireland in 1790. He was brought up in a private school called St. Patrick's in Carlow. Fr. Therry was ordained a priest in 1815.

    John Bede Polding, was born in Liverpool, in England. His birthday was the 18th of November, 1794. He became a priest, and then made his way up from there. He arrived to Australia in 1834, and he thought the Church, had to be strict and to be said in old Latin. He became the first Bishop of Australia. He was made a priest and made his way up from there.

  • Caroline Chisolm

    Caroline was born in May, 1801. The reason she was a saint is because often when immigrants arrived to a new country, people often would take their money and belongings for themselves to get accommodation or employment. Caroline Chisholm decided to help them, and try and prevent this.
  • Bishop Robert Wilson

    Robert Wilson was born in 1794, England. In 1816 he went to Oscott College to study to be a priest. In 1842 Hobart was created a diocese that wasn't from New South Wales. Robert was chosen to be its chief pastor and declared at Birmingham on 28 October, and later came to Australia to do so.

    The Christian brothers are an orginisation that was formed in 1802 by a man name "Edmund Ignatius Rice". This foundation is known for helping out the poor and education poor children who dont get to go to school like us.
  • Mary Mackillop

    Mary was known for giving poor kids a good enough education for them to get a job and provide for themselves. She was born in January 1842, and lived in Australia.
