    Jacob (age 26) proposed to Brenda but Brenda said no. From that point on Jacob felt it was best if he just kept to himself.
    Erikson's sixth stage, intimacy versus isolation, the crisis is between finding a significant others who you can be intimate, passionate, and or commited to or distancing yourself frome close relationships with others.

    Jacob (age 44) was elected as the new CEO of the of the company he has been working for. He feels that he has done a lot of great work through the company and he will now bring the company to further success.
    Erikson's seventh stage, generativity versus stagnation, the crisis is between caring and accomplishing life goals or failure to contribute to society and feel disconnected or uninvolved.

    Alone on his death bed, Jacob (age 80) looked back at all his accomplishments in his career and all the riches that it brought to him, but he realized that he would have rather had a family by his side than his riches.
