    The Zhou Dynasty

    The Zhou Dynasty
    Three great Zhou rulers kept Zhou strong for many years. The names of these kings are King Wen (1st), King Wens son (second) the 3rd ruler was King Zhou's brother the Duke of Zhou (3rd).They maintained strong for many years, in 800 B.C.E they had around 200 Vassal freedoms across the Zhou lands.

    The Xia Dynasty

    The Xia Dynasty
    The Xia dynasty was a period of time where many ancient China communities began to come together. A civilization was then formed that was able to cast bronze. Erlotiou contains the earliest bronze objects found in East Asia. Erlitou was the main town or civilization of ancient China.

    The Shang Dynasty

    The Shang Dynasty
    The Shang Dynasty emerged around 1600 BCE and was known as a bronze aged civilization. Many Shange cities contained temples and castles. It is believed that the first city of Shang was built near the modern town of Shangqiu. The Shang people were very good at working with metal and were very skilled working with it. The had many uses for these metals, they can be used in rituals, brozes became a symbol of power.

    The Battle of Mu Ye

    Daoism
    Daoism is a religious belief started in China. It is credited to a man named Laozi and is important because it is a symbol that teaches people the principles of life. Daoism writing is still used today in China and it still a very part of their religion.

    Confucius
    Confucius was a man who lived from 551-479 B.C.E and worked very hard to get people to read Zhou books. He tried to persuade people to do good and live among the traditional roles. He tried to get many rulers to do this among man states but none of the agreed with him.     First Empire of China

    First Empire of China
    The first empire of China was a magnificent place and had many states in the empire. The state of Qi was among the strongest of these states. In 246 B.C.E King Shihuangdi took over the State of Qi at the age of thirteen years old. Hundreds and thousands of people were constructed to build the Great all of China. They also were also consructed to build a huge capital building for the king in Xianyang.

    Legalism
    Legalism in ancient China was a philosophy of administration. It pretty much was laws and the consequences of laws if they were broken. This was important because it kept people in line. Allow the consequences of Legalism were not as bad as the ones of the Qin.

    The invention of paper took place in about 50-121 CE. Paper was a very big improvement for Ancient China because up until the Han period documents were written on bones or silk. Cai Lun is the person who invented paper and his invention spread quickly to the Arab world then reached Europe in about the 11th century.

    In about 200 CE China and India began to trade along the silk road. Buddhism became a very big part of the Chinese religion during the Tang era. Buddhism in the beggining was critizized for being foreign.
