  • The Australian referendum

    This was to allow Australians to vote for Aboriginal people to be apart of the census.
    Also it allowed people to vote so the Commonwealth government could make laws for Aboriginal people.
  • Charles Perkins starts work in the Office of Aboriginal Affairs

    Charles Perkins moved up to Canberra to start work in the Office of Aboriginal Affairs, which was set up by Prime Minister Harold Holt.
