  • Charles I was born.

    Charles was born in Nov 9 1600, Scotland. Second son of James VI and Anne of Denmark. He was created Duke of Albany, the traditional title of the second son of the King of Scotland on 23 December 1600. In March 1603 his father became the King of England. His family went to England and they left him alone because he was a sickly kid who can't take that long journey.
  • Charles's brother died.

    Since his older brother, Henry died he got the heir to the throne. He died, probably due to typhoid fever, on 6 November 1612.He was the first born child of James VI of Scotland and Anne of Denmark. Also they gave him the title, Prince of Wales.
  • Charles was created Prince of Wales

    In 15 Sep 1616, Charles was created Prince of Wales in 1616, he was instructed by King James in every aspect of ruling a kingdom.
  • He became king of England.

    In 15 Oct, 1625 he became king of England, Scotland and Ireland.
  • Charles was crowned.

    In February 2, 1626 Charles was crowned at Westminster Abbey, but without his wife at his side due to the disagreement. He decided to rule without consulting Parliament ever again.They had nine children, with three sons and three daughters surviving babyhood. Also as James VI was crowned of Scotland at Stirling Castle.

    He dismissed parliament and resolved to rule alone on 21 August 1629. This forced him to raise revenue by non-parliamentary means which made a lot of people hate him. The weak leadership of Charles and those in the Royalist army but at the same time the strength of Parliament and their leadership skills are the other side of it. Charles attempted to have five members of parliament arrested.
  • Bishops War.

    Bishops Wars, attempts to force religious conformity onto Scotland. Between 1637-1640 the Bishops War was a very important event that occurred in England. The Bishop's War was a disagreement between England and Scotland. It was caused by the people's reactions against King Charles I's attempt to reform the Scottish Church.
  • Charles attempted to force a new prayer book.

    In 5 Aug, 1642 when Charles attempted to force a new prayer book on the country of Scotland, the civil war was about to start.
  • Charles failed to win the first War and surrendered.

    In 13 Jan, 1646 Charles failed to win the first War and surrendered to the Scots. He was in a position to win but his leadership let him down.Charles made the mistake of leaving London; so it was left in the hands of Parliament and was under their control throughout the civil war.London and the fact that it was under the control of Parliament throughout the civil war is another fairly significant reason why the King lost.
  • He died.

    He died in 30 January 1649 (aged 48) Whitehall, London.
