On February 12, 1809 Charles Darwin was born in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, England. His father Robert Waring Darwin was a society doctor, and mother Susannah Wedgwood who was the daughter of Unitarian pottery industrialist. Darwin was the second son to this family. -
Schooling
At 16, Darwins father sent him to Edinburg University to study medicine. After two years he showed little knowledge had been retained, he then was taught to understand the chemistry of cooling rocks, and how to classify plants by the “natural system” at the edinburg museum. -
The Beagle Voyage
At 22, Darwin endured five years of hardship and mental challenges while he was confined to the walls of the ship only offset by the opportunities in the jungles of brazil and the Andes Mountains. As a result of Darwins natural will to pursue interests, he only spent a total of 18 months on the ship. -

Darwinism
Darwins theory declared that species survived through a process called natural Selection. Darwin also believed that the species who were part of the natural selection had adapted or evolved to meet the change. Those who failed would die off. Darwin studied birds, fossils, and plants while also coming across similarities in other species. Darwins theory of natural selection later became known as Darwinism. -
The Book

The Origin of Species
Darwin was 50 years old when he consolidated all of his observations into his book called The Origin of Species. This book was controversial and drastically altering the scientific view on the origins of life. -
Bye Bye Darwin
April 19 1882, Charles Darwin was no longer with us. Darwin Died from Congestive heart failure. -
