    After setting sail in December 1831, the Beagle made its first stop at the Cape Verde Island of Santiago. He and some officers visited the village of Ribeira Grande to make detailed observations of a cuttle-fish that changed colors.     In 1837 the daguerreotype was invented. It was made by a man named Louis Daguerre. He used iodized silver plates to print out an image. It was the first version of a camera (History.com).

    On April 19, 1882, Charles Darwin died of a heart attack. He died in Downe, United Kingdom. He was 82 when he died when he died and can be considered as one of the most important naturalists or scientist there ever was ( Karp 149).
