Canute is Crowned King and Edmund is Killed
- In 1016. Like his father Edmund he did not have the support of the whole country in his fight against the now resident Danes and was murdered (probably) in November 1016 -Canute was crowned king of England to the relief of all, almost immediately.

-how he died is still unknown but he went through life without and painful illness
-he was burried at Old Minster in Winchester but four years later his body was moved to New Minster in Whinchester. When When the New Minster moved to Hyde, a little north of the original location, in 1110, the monks were transferred to Hyde Abbey, along with Alfred's body and also his families body, including his children and wife - -
