Cell Theory Assinment

  • Robert Hooke

Robert Hooke came upon his discovery by an assignment on insects, but Robert went way beyond he discovered the cell as an "honey comb-like structure", but he only saw the cell wall using the microscope. "He only saw the cell wall as dead tissue", Robert used multiple sources of illumination. He also looked at frozen urine, leaves, he also let an louse [a small, wingless, parasitic insect that lives on the the skin o mammals and birds].thus creating the term Cell-building block of all lick
  • Antonie Van Leeuwenhoek

Antonie discovered the single cell organism, which establish the field of microbiology. He was able to make this discovery 1 because he created a lensed that increase the magnification capacity f the microscope. 2 Leeuwenhoek helped form the cell theory and disproved the idea of spontaneous generation.3 he mad his discovery by looking at a pond of water. He also went on to discover bacteria in 1676. [https://www.science-of-aging.com/timelines/theodor-schwann-all-life-composed-of-cells]
  • Robert Brown

Robert Brown discovered the cell nucleus, but he didn't know the cell nucleus were in other cells other than those belonging to plants, Robert Studied 1700 plant species. Robert figured out that cell nucleus is the key component in cells.
  • Theodor Schwann

Theodor came up with the idea "that all living things are made of cells." This Theory was made up when he "published a monograph that declared all animals and plants are made from one single fundamental unit"."The thought marked a sea change in the study of anatomy and life itself." He formed his idea in the book "Microscopical Researches Into the Accordance in the Structure and Growth of Animals and Plants." His work would set Müller's lab as the stage for future discoveries in the cell theory
  • Rudolf Virchow

Rudolf wrote books about Cellular Pathology. which is the ways that cells fail to maintain homeostasis. He built on the work of Schwann. His theory was that cells are created from the division of cells, "every cell originates from another existing cell like it." He discovered many things related to cellular theory, pathology and social medicine. This made it easier to treat diseases such as leukemia he was the first one to recognize it.
  • Matthias Jakob Schleiden

"Matthias proposes that all plant tissues are made of cells and that cells are the basic building blocks of all plants. Matthias observed that all plants were composed of cells."From this observation, he made the first general statement about cells. He theorized that cells were the basic building blocks of all plants". Schwann modified Schleiden's theory to create what would become the first two parts of modern cell theory.
