  • End of French and Indian War

    End of French and Indian War
    The Bristish kicked the French out of North America. Britain was is debt due to the war so then they began to tax the colonies.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    The Stamp Act made colonists pay taxes on all printed materials such as newpapers, books, court documents, contracts, and land deeds. Parliment made colonists got directly taxed. The colonists began to protest, this is taxation without representation.
  • Quarting Act

    Quarting Act
    The Quarting Act forced colonists to give away supplies. Also, they had to allow soliders to sleep in their house. The colonists complained but they had no other chorus other than to go with it because Parliment was providing defense.
  • Nonimportation Agreements

    Nonimportation Agreements
    The Nonimportation Agreements gave chills to British merchants who traded with the colonies. These acts reached the most effect because of the Townshend Revenue Act. Almost every port city and region would take on acts like this. This cause the first continental colonies to pass The Association. The Association prohibited the colony fron trading with Great Britain.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    The Boston Massacre a colonists threw a snowball at a soilder. The soilder got angry and shot at the crowd and killed five colonists. One of the colonists happened to be an escape slave with the name Crispus Attucks.
  • Boston Tea Party

    Boston Tea Party
    The Boston Tea Party created many financial problems for the British East Indian Trading Comapny when the tea was boycotted. A law was passed so that the British East Indian Trading Company could sell directly to the colonists. The tea was made cheaper even with the smuggled tea even with tax. The Partiots snuck on to three British ships and dump the tea into the habor.

    The Intolerable Act were meant to punish the colonists for the Boston Tea Party. The port was closed the colonists were forced to let the troops into their homes and made it so that British officials could be tried for crimes commited in the colonists.

    The Quebec Act caused several colonies to be cut off. It extened to the Sourthern boarder. They dismissed the idea of the British being able to shut down trade and change colonial governements at will. The peple in Massachuettes became violent towards the British.
  • The Coercive Acts

    The Coercive Acts
    The Coercive acts were a series of four acts that were created by the British government. It was to restore order in Massachusttes. Also, they wanted to punish the colonists for the Boston Tea Party. It consisted of The Boston Port Act, The Massachusettes Act, The Administration of Justice Act, and The Quartering Act. There was a fifth act which was The Quebec Act.
  • The Battle of Lexington and Concord

    The Battle of Lexington and Concord was a secret plan. the British General, General Gage sent out soldiers late at night.These soldiers were to capture the colonial leaders Sam Adams and John Hancock from Lexington. Then they would get the gun powder from Concord. The plan was heard by others. Paul Revere, William Dawes, and Dr.Samuel Prescott rode off on their horses to watch for the British. When Paul Revere seen the British, he rode back to town and warned"The British are coming!"
