Parliament places a tax on paper. The tax makes the colonists buy a stamp for every paper they buy. this includes legal documents, Newspaper etc. The colonists don have a Representative in Parliament to vote on new laws and tax "Taxation without Representation" the colonist boycott paper and the Parliament were forced to repeal it -

The Boston massacre was because colonists were taunting solders and more colonists and solders showed up and the solders started shooting 5 people died -
Tea act/Boston tea party of 1773
The government decided that the colonist can buy tea only from the East India Company it would be cheaper but there would be a tax. colonists wanted choices and representation before taxes were determined for them. Result the Boston Tea party the Sons of liberty (a organisation that fought against the British government) dressed as native Americans boarded the East India company and threw the tea overboard by the crate. -
Quartering act of 1774
Parliament (without a single representative from the colonies)passed a law requiring the colonists to pay to quarter troops in the colonies. The were there to enforce the Kings laws.Colonists were angered and the New York's Assembly refused to pay some taxes. then the British government dissolved the assembly until the obeyed the quartering act.
