Cancer Check-Ups

  • Age 45 testing

    At this age, testing should happen for the prostate exam. One way to test is to have blood work done that checks for prostate-specific antigens or have a digital rectal exam and feel the prostate gland.
  • Age 50 testing

    Colon cancer should be checked at this age by having a colonoscopy or tests in stool that can find signs of cancer. Colonoscopies can also find polyps that could become cancerous.The same prostate exam should happen here.
  • Age 60 and above testing

    If you are 60 you should have the same colon exams, prostate exams, then be introduced to lung cancer screening. CT scans are used to find anything unusual in the lung cavity.
