+1; The battle of Vimy Ridge is one of the numerous battles in the First World War. This battle was a time of progress for Canada as during this battle, Canada's army proved themselves as a reputable military. -
The Federal Election of 1917
-2; Sir Robert Borden was elected in the "Doomsday Election". This was bad news and a time of decline for Canada because Borden was for conscription meaning any eligible Canadian men could be sent t war against their will. This act split the country. -

The Great Depression Starts
-2; The great depression was a time of pure desperation and suffering. This was a time where materials and resources were limited as well as money being an issue. Lot's of people were poor. There was also a decline in babies being born because no one could afford to have one. Some people even sold the children they had.
