Blake Lively was born on August 25th, 1987 in Tarzana, Los Angeles, California. Her parents, Elaine and Ernie Lively were both heavily involved in show business. When Lively was born her mother was an acting coach and talent agent while her father was an actor and teacher (Sotirhou). Lively was also born the youngest of five children who were all actors ("Blake Lively"). -
Sandman
Through Blake Lively’s younger years she did some acting work but focused on her studies. Out of her family she was the only one with aspirations besides becoming successful in Hollywood, she wanted to attend Stanford from a young age. However, when Lively was 10 she acted in her first movie which was directed by her dad. She was Trixie the Tooth Fairy in the musical movie Sandman. Even though the movie was never released this was Lively’s first introduction into show business (Sotirhou). -
Gossip Girl
Lively's biggest role in her career was staring in the hit TV show, Gossip Girl. It was a widely talked about TV show that got a lot of media attention and a huge fan base ("Blake Lively"). This is when Lively’s name got big, “The real star of Gossip Girl is Blake Lively, who plays a former It Girl named Serena van der Woodsen the name practically cries Upper East Side prep schools and Law & Order episodes about rich kids behaving badly” (Strachan). -
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants
Lively's breakout role was in the movie Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. She played Bridget, "I can relate to the way Bridget is determined to be loved and I relate to her energy" Lively shared about her role ("A Journey with Several Legs"). In the movie sporty Bridget goes to Mexico for soccer camp ("A Journey with Several Legs"). The movie was very successful and got Lively a nomination for the teen choice award for breakout star. -

Married to Ryan Reynolds
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds met while filming to Green Lantern together. A little less than a year after their relationship went public they got married at a plantation right outside of Charleston, South Carolina. It was a small ceremony with only around 60 guest under a white tent. There were musical performances by Florence and the Machine and Bette Midler ("Ryan Reynolds Gets Married to Blake Lively"). -
The New Face of L'Oreal
Blake Lively's fame continued to grow as she became a fashion inspiration and a role model to many. She starred in other films such The Private Lives of Pippa Lee, The Town, and Savages. Lively is also the face of Chanel’s Mademoiselle Bag and the brand Ambassador for Gucci’s Premiere fragrance. This fame prompted the makeup brand L’Oreal Paris to ask Lively to be the new face of L’Oreal (lorealparisnyc).

Blake has a Baby Girl
Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds have a baby girl named James Lively Reynolds. Ryan Reynolds shares, "The best thing about it-well, everything's great about it. The least impressive thing is the complete lack of sleep." (Duck).
