Obama wins democratic party's primary and becomes the nominne for the U.S. senate. He resigned his seat in the illonois senate upon being elected. He finished being senate on November 16th, 2008. -
Obama becomes President of the United States
Barack Obama was elected on November 4th 2008, and became United States 44th and current president. He defeated John McCain, 52.9 percent to 45.7 percent. Obama was the first african american to serve as a U.S. president. Obama also won second term in 2012 which leads him to now be president to this day. -
Obama wants to be president!
In the third grade he wrote a paper about how he wanted to be the presdent, the assighnment was cslled "what do you want to be when you grow up". 35 years ago he declared his goal was to become president while he was in grade school.
