    Communist uprising happened in Greece soon after the liberation from the Axis. It was supported by USSR and Yugoslavia, while legitimate government of the country was supported by the UK and the US. The uprising was crushed.

    Indo-Pakistani wars

    Multiple full scale wars, with last happening in 1999, mostly over the disputed region of Kashmir, but also due to other disagreements, and India Involving to help Bangladesh to achieve its independence. India emerged victorious in these conflicts.

    Arab-Israeli wars

    Serie of armed conflicts starting with Israeli War of Independence. Initially USSR supported Israel, but that switched support to the Arab states. Israel emerged victorious in all the open confrontations.

    Korean War

    Korean War was fought between pro-Communist North Korea backed up by PRC and USSR, and pro-Western South Korea supported by USA after UN resolution. None of the sides could achieve victory and the country remains divided by this day.

    Algerian War

    Uprising in Algeria in order to gain independence from France. Algeria was not a colony in traditional understanding, it was considered as part of the metropoly. The war was characterized by war crimes and guerilla warfare. France eventually lost international support, French troops had to withdraw, and Algeria gained independence.

    Second Indochina War

    War between Communistic North Vietnam and pro-Western South Vietnam. USSR and PRC were supporting North Vietnam, USA sent its army to help South Vietnam in 1965. This was costly, and American army suffered heave casualties, leading to Anti-war Movement in the US. War also affected neighboring countries of Laos and Cambodia. Resulted in North's victory, and led to creating of Communistic governments in the whole region.

    Indonesia–Malaysia confrontation

    aka Konfrontasi, unsuccessful Indonesian attempt to stop creating of Malaysia from the Federation of Malaya and British colonies on Kalimantan. Indonesia was supported by PRC and USSR, Britain and Commonwealth of Nations supported Malaya.

    Rhodesian Bush War

    Rhodesia a former British colony was ruled by the white minority and did not receive international recognition. Different, mostly Communistic, guerilla groups fought against the governmental troops, supported by USSR, PRC, Cuba, North Korea, and some neighboring countries. Led to Mugabe getting to power, and economic collapse of the country.

    Ogaden War

    Somalia and Ethiopia were both supported by the USSR, but Somalia's invasion to obtain Ethiopian region of Ogaden was met with disapproval, and Soviet support of Somalia stopped. Ethiopian army, with Soviet and Cuban help managed to drive Somalis out of the country. This led to revolt in Somali army, and triggered Somalian Civil War.

    Soviet–Afghan War

    Soviet troops entered Afghanistan to support unpopular Communist government. They were met by guerilla warfare by various militants often supported by the US. Soviet troops suffered heave casualties, which was one of the reason behind the collapse of the USSR.
