In 2014 South Dakota enacted its law against malicious cruelty because of the HSUS's efforts. It was the final state in the U.S. to enact the law. -

In 2011, the Humane Society passed the Shark Conservation Act that bans the removal of shark's fins at sea in all U.S. waters.
