    Eratosthenes

    Eratosthenes
He was Greek scientific writer, astronomer, and poet, who made the first measurement of the size of Earth for which any details are known. In 240 BC he had made the discovery of how to find the circumference of the earth. The reason why this was so important was that they will finally know how big the planet really is.This was a huge discovery
  • 100 BCE

    Claudius Ptolemy

    Claudius Ptolemy
He was an Egyptian astronomer, mathematician, and geographer of Greek descent who flourished in Alexandria during the 2nd century CE. He believed that the Earth was the center of the Universe. He created a book title Mathematical Treatise, which was later called Almagest. It was write in 747 BC. This was important because it showed people what he has found and all the research he had done. He also came up the Almagest's Universe, which is now what we use to arrange the planets
  • 1473

    Nicolaus Copernicus

    Nicolaus Copernicus
He was known well for his model of planetary motion. He was more than an astronomer, He is his other achievements, for his major contributions to economics, Planning military defenses, and his distinguished service to the Catholic diocese of Wama. In 1543 he had published his findings. This was important because we didn't know where the palnets were and this had helped to tell us where the planets are lined up.
  • 1567

    Tycho Brahe

    Tycho Brahe
He had built vast instruments to set accurate sights on the stars, and used multiple clocks and timekeepers. He built the Brass Azimuthal Quadrant in 1576 or 1577.He achieved his goal of measuring to one minute of arc. This was a tremendous accomplishment before the invention of the telescope. His aim was to confirm his own picture of the universe. he was born on December 14, 1546, in Knudstrup, Scania, Denmark and died on October 24, 1601, in Prague.
  • Johannes Kepler

    Johannes Kepler
He discovered the Keplerian Telescope in 1611.This telescope design was also famous for its ability to reach much larger magnification levels that Galilean telescope, although that process demanded significant increase of focal length between lenses (some telescopes even had 46-meter focal length) so it made it easier to discover new planet and study them.
  • Sir Isaac Newton

    Sir Isaac Newton
English mathematician, physicist, and scientist. He is widely regarded as one of the most influential scientists of all time, developing new laws of mechanics, gravity, and laws of motion. His most famous discovery was the laws of gravity. He also discovery calculus in the 17th century. He is also known for his laws of gravity that was created in 1687. The reason why its so important is because it helped us understand gravity.
  • albert Einstein

    albert Einstein
was a German-born theoretical physicist who developed the theory of relativity, one of the two pillars of modern physics. The theory of relativity was created in 1916. It was important because it was one of the towering achievements of physics. it explains that what we perceive as the force of gravity in fact arises from the curvature of space and time. Einstein proposed that objects such as the sun and the Earth change this geometry.
