    In 1763, to prevent more war with native Americans, the British government issued a proclamation.

    The Currency Act passed Parliament, prohibiting the colonies from issuing legal tender paper money.

    To pay for the french and Indian War, the British made the colonist pay taxes on stamps, sugar, tea and other products.

    A mob of angry worker sand sailors protested the taxes by attacking a patrol of nine British soldiers with rocks and snowballs.
