    This was written because it made it so colonists' could finally have their independence they wanted. This also meant that what we call now, The United States, was turned into an independent nation. The American colonists were also able to form an alliance with France to take down the British Army.

     Battles of Trent and New Jersey
    The Army of the great George Washington had crossed the icy Delaware river on Christmas day in 1776. The next day there was a huge battle between George Washington's Army and the Hessian mercenaries. George Washington came out with the win.

    America has a flag and back when the U.S. was just 13 colonies, Congress declared that there should be 13 stripes on the American Flag. These were to count all of the colonies of what was the old U.S.

    British General William Howe, after failing to draw the Continental Army under General George Washington into a battle in northern New Jersey, embarked his army on transports, and landed them at the northern end of Chesapeake Bay.

    This was a battle that had occurred during the second year of the Revolutionary War and it had 2 battles within it. Each of the battles 18 days apart. It was a decisive victory for the Continental Army.

    The British forces captured Charles Town because the General of Charles Town commanded his men to surrender. The British had a tactic they used to help capture it. This tactic was bombardment.

    British surrender at Yorktown
    The British had been trapped in Yorktown so their General stopped trying to fight and had surrendered the land to George Washington. This act ended the Revolutionary War and the British stopped fighting.

    The Treaty of Paris ended the war between the French and the Indian. This war lasted 7 years before this was signed and it stopped the war. King George III was the one who signed it to stop this war.
