    First Americans enter North

    The first Americans to enter the new world were discovered around 13,000 years ago. They were likely game hunters from Asia and looking for some new prey.

    Christopher Columbus wanted to go find India but instead he made some wrong turns and headed to America. There he found Native Americans and other unknown people and foods

    He was a slave that should have been freed but since two laws were contradicting themselves he was stuck a slave until he was later freed by his owners son.

    In 1803 the Louisiana Purchase took place, doubling the size of the country. By 1840 almost 7 million Americans had migrated westward in hopes of securing land and being prosperous.

    Dred Scott was and African American slave that should have been freed because of the laws that say once free always free but he wasn't, the case went to the supreme court and they ruled him a slave.

    It was the election that put Abraham Lincoln into the presidents seat and started a change in the whole United States, Abraham Lincoln won by a landslide.

    The civil war broke out because of the different beliefs of slavery, the North thought slavery was wrong while the South encouraged it.
