aly-model of the atom

  • Dalton's Model of the Atom

    Dalton's Model of the Atom
Dalton's model of the atom was called the Billard Ball model. He thought that all matter is made of atoms, each element has its own kind of atom. Dalton discovered that atoms cannot be created or destroyed. Dalton used patterns within the circles to distinguish the different elements.
  • Thomson's Model of the Atom

    Thomson's Model of the Atom
Thomson's model of the atom was called Plum Pudding model. Thomson discovered that atoms contain particles called electrons, electrons have a small mass and a negative charge, the rest of the atom is a sphere of positive charge. He died in 1940
  • Rutherford's Modle of the Atom

    Rutherford's Modle of the Atom
Rutherford discovered that the atom is mostly empty space with a dense positively charged nucleus surrounded by negative electrons. Rutherford died on October 19th 1937.
  • Bohr's Model of the Atom

    Bohr's Model of the Atom
Bohr's model depicts the atom as a small positively charged nucleus surrounded by waves of electrons in orbit. Borh's model of the atom proposed that electrons occupy special positions around the nucleus. Borh's model also explained some important properties of the photoelectric effect.
  • Quantum's Model of the Atom

    Quantum's Model of the Atom
The Quantum model says that an atom consists of a dense nucleus composed of protons and neutrons surrounded by electrons. It is impossible to determine the exact location of an electron. this model of the atom shows how electrons move randomly in electron clouds. The Quantum model is the most up to date model.
